How do I know if I need therapy?

You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in repeating patterns, or unsure how to move forward in relationships or life transitions.

You may benefit from therapy if you notice:

  • Persistent anxiety, stress, or sadness

  • Difficulty setting boundaries or saying no

  • Overthinking or trouble managing emotions

  • Relationship challenges or communication struggles

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others

  • Wanting personal growth but not knowing where to begin

Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to better understand yourself, develop coping skills, and create meaningful change at your own pace.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship challenges.

Virtual therapy offers several benefits:

  • Greater convenience and flexibility

  • Access to care from the comfort of your home

  • Reduced travel time and scheduling barriers

  • Increased consistency with sessions

Online sessions remain confidential, structured, and focused on helping you build insight, emotional tools, and lasting progress.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy.

During this session, we typically:

  • Discuss your current concerns and goals for therapy

  • Review relevant personal, emotional, and relationship history

  • Explore what you hope will change or improve

  • Answer any questions you may have about the therapy process

There is no pressure to share everything at once. The first session focuses on creating comfort, safety, and a clear direction for our work together.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, if you are unable to make it to your appointment, please give me a call 24hrs before your appointment time to cancel. Please leave a voicemail if I do not answer. All sessions that are not cancelled before 24hrs will be charged the full session fee. Please note that insurance does not cover late cancellations or missed appointments.

Do you have a late policy?

Yes, please give me a call ahead of time if you are going to be late to your appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the session will be canceled and charged the full session fee. Please be aware that insurance does not cover appointments that are canceled due to arriving late.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, I offer a free 15 to 20 minute phone or virtual session to see if we are a good fit to work together. Please feel free to call 951-291-1510.
